El mercado holandés resulta bastante particular en comparación con el español. De entrada los modelos urbanos tienen una importancia muy superior mientras que los productos de marcas japonesas gozan de una excelente acogida. Last year April Kroymans went bankrupt, the former European importer of Cadillac and Corvette Europe and also the former Dutch importer of Kia, Alfa Romeo, Saab, Jaguar, Maserati, Ferrari and SsangYong. Due to this situation the sales of these brands dropped to almost zero for some months. Kia, Alfa Romeo, Saab, Jaguar, Maserati and Ferrari have found a new importer, while Cadillac, Corvette and SsangYong are currently not available in The Netherlands.
The last years hybrid cars and small fuel efficient superminis are very popular here due to the tax advantages for petrol cars with maximum CO2 emissions of 110 grams (Aygo/C1/107, Daihatsu Cuore, smart fortwo MHD, Alto/Pixo, Fiat Panda 1.2 69, Fiat 500 1.2 Start&Stop Dualogic, Toyota Prius, Auris Hybrid, Honda Civic Hybrid, Insight) or diesel cars with a maximum of 95 grams (smart fortwo diesel, and the new Polo 1.2 TDI BlueMotion, Ibiza 1.2 TDI Ecomotive, Skoda Fabia Combi 1.2 TDI Greenline and Fiat Grande Punto/Punto Evo 1.3 MultiJet). I've heard that 70% of the total European Honda Civic Hybrid sales are sold in The Netherlands. Also, Kia plans to introduce the Forte Hybrid LPi on the Dutch car market.
